How to send attachments up to 100MB with Microsoft Outlook and YouSendIt
Never had the need to send your contact an email with an attachment larger than 10MB?
Unfortunately you may have noticed that in most cases, it is virtually impossible: this is because the protocol is not particularly high performance management of files over a certain size, and because the service providers themselves often configure email quite restrictive limits on the size to avoid congestion servers.
The most enterprising people solve the problem by relying on external online services that make available a certain amount of web space within which the sender can to upload files to be sent and the recipient has the ability to access and carry out the download.
The disadvantage is obviously the fact that these solutions are not integrated with your mail client
.

In this sense, YouSendIt, one of the most popular file sharing services and used to date (allows to exchange files for free up to a maximum size of 100MB!) Introduced an interesting innovation: thanks to a small plugin allows to integrate well its functionality within Outlook.
More precisely, once installed the plugin, you see a widget in toobar Outlook that allows you to configure the parameters for integration of service, including:
- your users to access the service;
- the minimum size beyond which the attachment to the mail will be sent via YouSendIt and not as a standard attachment.
Once setup, you can use Outlook as usual: attached to an e-mail whenever a file size greater than the minimum set, YouSendIt will intercept the action of sending the message and transparently reroute the attachment from its server ( will see the outgoing mail folder "YouSendIt Outbox" and a progress bar will indicate on the widget 's progress dell'upload). The recipient, in turn, will receive your mail containing within it, the link to download the file.
