Integrating the Command Prompt in Windows Explorer
Windows operating system will certainly be a user-friendly (although maybe I have some reservations on certain aspects) and is also easy to use for the average user, but for those involved in advanced management and / or programming, the obstacles and inconveniences are endless!
One of these is, in my view, the lack of accessibility to the Command Prompt.
Microsoft seems to go all out to discourage users to use the command line (and it is easily seen in the transition from XP to Vista) but as you know any developer or system administrator 's access to the shell is crucial.
In any case, because Microsoft does not care that much to the problems related to usability Prompt, we thought someone else to solve the problem ![]()
Command Prompt Explorer Bar is a small tool that extends the capabilities of Explorer (or Windows Explorer) incorporating a system of prompt access which has a remarkable level of immediacy. In fact, once installed, allows the simple typing CTRL + M to access via the command line to the folder currently open on IE: if then navigate between folders, Command Prompt Explorer Bar will always remain synchronized even in the positioning of the Prompt filesystem.

Finally, it is very interesting integration with a management system "Macros" that automates a whole series of actions on the command line: using the (0) placeholder you can reference the files currently selected in the explorer window, passing as arguments to the macro to run, while the placeholder (1) is used in the event that should be passed as an argument to the macro a single file or directory.
